SWEDISH RELAXATION MASSAGE

The main purpose of Swedish massageis to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. It shortens recovery timefrom muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple and pliable.

Swedish massage also stimulates the skinand nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management.

DEEP TISSUE/SPORTS MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage focuses more onthe deeper layers of muscle tissue. By working on a specific joint, muscle, or muscle group, deeper layers of the soft tissue can be accessed. It aims to releasethe chronic patterns of tension in the body through slower strokes and more direct deep finger pressure either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons, and fascia.

Deep tissue massage also helps break upand eliminate scar tissue. It is used in treating muscle, tendon and ligament injuries, and crippling diseases by increasing the blood circulation to injured and aging areas that have decreased blood supply. This treatment also helps prevent injuries and enhance performance. Because it focuses on more specific areas,it may cause some soreness during or right after the massage, but you should feel better than ever within a day or two.

CLINICAL/PAIN MANAGEMENT MASSAGE

This bodywork session will focus onrelieving chronic and acute pain with trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and other advanced massage techniques applied to the soft tissues of the body.

This approach can help you overcomechronic postural and pain related conditions, repetitive use injuries, and other muscular and joint issues. It is different from a full bodyrelaxation massage in that the therapist will focus on specific problem areas of your body
