Hypnosis

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a very powerful tool that is integral to our clients' success. It is a naturally occurring state of mind that everyone has already experienced many times, whether by accident or by design.

Hypnosis has been around as long as human beings have been.

We use this natural state of mind unknowingly all the time, it's very common. If you have ever become so absorbed into a tv program, movie or video game, that you didn't hear someone speaking to you, then you were probably in a trance. Advertisers use their understanding of this to their advantage by inducing a hypnotic trance and then providing you with hypnotic suggestions, called commercials!

Another common example of this naturally occurring state of mind:

You have almost certainly experienced a state known as “road trance” or “highway hypnosis” when driving. Perhaps you've arrived at your destination with no clear memory of just how you got there, or maybe you've suddenly become aware that you just missed your exit because you were thinking of something else, or daydreaming.

The U.S. government defines hypnosis as having two parts:

(1) the bypass of the critical factor, and (2) the establishment of acceptable selective thinking.

This seems to be a useful and accurate definition of hypnosis.

Part one, the "bypass of the critical factor" simply means the release of limiting beliefs. "The establishment of acceptable selective thinking," the second part of the definition, refers to the process of guiding someone into hypnosis by using a hypnotic induction. It creates the mental environment or state of mind that enables you to reject limiting beliefs (that you picked up by living in our society), so that you can accept new, more empowering ones.

The hypnotic state is an optimum state for making changes in your life.

At last, you can gain control of your powerful subconsious mind and begin moving toward a more healthy, and happy you.

What can hypnosis be used for?

Hypnosis can be used for any area of self improvement, including (but not limited to) Stress Management, Phobia Elimination, Weight Loss and Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Smoking Cessation, Pain Management, Substance Abuse, Emotional Trauma, Natural Childbirth, and even Hypnotic Anesthesia for medical and dental procedures! The use of hypnosis for anesthesia has been accepted by the American Medical Association since 1958.

Is Hypnosis against my religion?

While we are not experts on religion, we do not believe that any religion (with the possible exception of Christian Science and 7th Day Adventists) specifically prohibits its use. In fact, most religions (including Protestant and Orthodox churches, Buddhism, Hindu, Shinto and Islam) support the use of hypnosis to help people. The Roman Catholic Church approved hypnosis by decree in 1847, and Pope Pius approved hypnosis for childbirth in 1956. So now you know that you can be hypnotized.

You have literally done it thousands of times before. You did it yourself when you were daydreaming and missed that turn (self-hypnosis), you have been hypnotized when you enjoyed a television program (being hypnotized by someone else), and you have followed hypnotic and post-hypnotic suggestions when you preferred some brand name that you saw repeatedly on television (hypnotic compounding of suggestion).

Now let's use hypnosis to make your life better.
